Glens Ferry and Three Island State Park

Leaving Boise we travled east on hwy 84 to Glens Ferry. We were heading to Three Island State Park on the Snake river and Carmela Winery. The Park is very well cared for and has full hookups. The walk to the winery is just a couple of 100 yards. They have a tasting room and a full restraurant, well worth the trip. This is the kind of place that you would return to again and again. It is a short drive to Hagerman and the Thousand Springs Scenic Drive, also Malad Gorge and Hagerman Fossil Beds.

Fishing on Slate Creek

This would be Teri's first try at fishing on a close stream. She had been practicing at home on the lawn and it was time to put it to a test. We arrived at the campground by mid morning and set up camp. We were driving our 1974 Fireball motorhome, so camp was set when I turned off the key. Teri and I went down to the stream to look things over, the water was very clear and although it was not moving very fast , it would prove to be a test for someone who had never fished running water before.
